beautiful read!
In full transparency, what initially drew me to the book was how beautiful the cover was. I know that the archaic, yet poignant phrase, "don't judge a book by it's cover," is a major neon sign for readers, but with this one, I couldn't help it. And I definitely was glad to have picked it up!
I know next to nothing about Bolivian politics and history, but reading this book completely sucked me into the storyline! I felt like Isabel Ibañez nailed the ability to write a world that was as beautiful and rich as what the cover offered me. There is a sharp reality that bites with the storyline that I appreciated because the topics do revolve around revolution, war conflict, and politics.
Every chapter kept me engaged and I was sad when I reached the last page. Loved this one!
