A story full of magic and beauty on every page
A lush world with beautiful creative writing, set in the backdrop of Bolivia with magic and war brewing. I enjoyed this book, and I can not wait for the second one to come out.
Isabel writes just as beautifully as she illustrates (she designed the cover), and I enjoyed getting to know Ximena as she developed through the story, and discovered her true self after filling in and playing the part of the royal Condesa for so long.
Ximena’s magic to weave is the most interesting power I’ve read in a story, it sounds beautiful and I wish it was something that could be brought to life.
Getting back to her character, even though she changes over the course of her story and she starts to see the Condesa in a different light, I still believe she always has the people of their royal town in her heart, and her main focus steers her to make the decisions she does in the story.
I’m excited to see where the second book goes with Ximena, if she continues to fall in love with the prince, who also was the masked vigilante who was trying to overthrow his own (bad) ruler, and how she saves her people.
