I'll admit, I was hesitant to read this preview as fantasy is not really my go-to genre. But the cover looks really cool, so based on that alone, I decided to give it a shot... and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I was drawn to the characters and their story! I found it interesting to read about each person's "magic" ability, and I'm very curious to see what happens next. I loved how descriptive the writing is, making it easy to create a picture in your mind. I think the biggest turn off for me as far as the fantasy genre goes is when the realness of a story seems to be overtaken by the magic. In this preview, however, I thought the fantasy aspects were blended so nicely with the "real" human aspects, which made it easy as the reader to relate to the story while still being able to escape into this other magical world.
