I believe that was the thing that most stuck out to me while reading this excerpt. This main character is one strong female. To put herself in danger acting as the condesa, making the correct calls to help her people and then to be put in the position of accepting a marriage from the enemy. This looks like an excellent book, I liked the touches of magic in what at first seems to be something of a historic fiction.
