Thank you to Bookish First and Revell for a copy of this wonderful book! The story is told from two points of view, Lori, the mother, and Avery, the daughter. Lori comes home after being gone for 10 months due to a traumatic brain injury and suffering memory loss from a serious car accident that took the life of her only son, Austin. His twin Avery is a senior in high school, who is still grieving the loss of Austin and she has anger issues. Avery goes through so much heart ache from the secrets her parents have kept from her.

People have alluded that there are problems in Lori and Michael’s marriage. There is something odd about it. Lori keeps finding clues about Michael, not wanting her to find out certain things, but why? All will be explained.

The story was sad because of the death of Austin. High school girls can be so mean sometimes. I cried for Avery. It takes a lot to make me cry. Such a good story that finds its way out of grief. I was worried that the material was going to be hard for me to read. Due to the author’s good writing and being able to tell a story that flowed well, I did not have any trouble. I enjoyed reading the author’s words especially when it came to Avery. Some funny things came out of her mouth. I want to read more.
