Meant to Be An Emotional Story

This was certainly meant to be an emotional story. I expected that given the premise--the aftermath of a character losing their memory after a car accident. With that said, I didn't feel the emotions that I expected, and even hoped for.

I just couldn't connect with any of the characters. I honestly found them all to be annoying overall. They were all ridiculous in some way, and that honestly pulled me out of the story, making it hard for me to really feel engaged in this story.

There are certainly a lot of triggering topics in this book (for example: emotional abuse, infidelity, loss of a child, and sexual assault). And while I usually don't mind reading about such topics, I don't feel as though these topics were fully explored in this book. I think that was in part because the book was so short--so the author didn't really have the space to explore them all.

Anyway, this book wasn't for me. But I hope it finds its audience!
