First I am going to state I won this from a giveaway over at Bookish First with the publisher Revell
The author did state there will be triggers in the book.

"This novel contains difficult and potentially triggering topics, such as death of a child, sexual assault, adultery, and divorce."

You don't read the whole extent of the accident where Austin lost his life, you don't go into details of the adultery, she does delve into some details about the sexual assault and that is at the end of the book.

Lori and her family who consisted of Michael her husband. Her 2 kids who were twins, Avery and Austin. They were in a car accident, Austin passed away and Lori ended up having a TBI. She couldn't remember any of her past up to a certain point. So she had memories of Austin, except up till the accident. She couldn't remember any of that. Which had to be hard. You have all these memories of you child and yet you couldn't remember him passing, or mourn for him.

As I was reading, I was waiting to read about the accident and what could cause triggers for me. I personally didn't have any. I say this is like a slow burn romance, however it isn't really about romance. It is about Lori regaining her memory and remembering how her life was tipped upside down. This all came at the last few chapters of the book.
I was on Loir's side, hating Michael because I thought he abused her and the kids. I was so wrong. Michael is everything a woman could ask for in a husband.
Avery was a little whiny brat at times. If she didn't get her way, she would pull that my brother is dead card, and she would just act like a brat. Granted I did loose a brother, however I was an adult. Avery did come into her own, she found out that being a snobby witch wasn't how she wanted to be. Xander who was Austin's best friend and now Avery's boyfriend. He kind of got on my nerves a bit. Yes, he was there when Avery needed him, he helped tutor her. When she didn't want it. He was also a little love sick puppy in a way. Even though Avery did wrong, he didn't care after he managed to talk with her and tell her she was being a b*tch. He gave me the mushy feelings, like insta love and that is great in some cases. Anyhow...............
I liked the book, it didn't trigger anything for me, might for others. So please be advised on that.
