Imagine suffering an injury so severe that it has temporarily robbed you of some of your memory. This is what happened to Lori Mendenhall when she was in an accident that took the life of her son.

Memories slowly return, but they are not always accurate. She needs to come to terms with what is the truth about the state of her marriage. Then there is her daughter, Avery, who has fallen behind in school because of the accident. She has also suffered a great loss….not only did she have to wait for her mother to recover enough to return home, but she has lost her twin brother.

Janine Rosche beautifully weaves an emotional tale for her readers. I certainly was drawn into the story and kept turning the pages because I wanted to see if Lori makes a full recovery and if Avery is able to graduate on schedule. There is also a sweet side relationship between Avery and Xander – her brother’s friend and now her tutor. Animal lovers will enjoy finding a pet dog in the book.

I received an early copy of this book from the publisher with no promise made of a positive review. Any opinion expressed here is my own. Keeping in mind that it contains sensitive topics, I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend. Janine Rosche is a new to me author and I will not hesitate to read more of her work.
