I’m not sure what to make of this book. While the colors of the cover art are beautiful, overall it’s bland and not at all eye-catching. I get that it’s trying to reflect the main character’s faded memory, but feels like it’s lacking substance. The story seems to promise interesting mystery shrouded in trauma, but again, there’s a bland quality to it. Also, the ‘“thank the Lord” tone immediately made me uneasy, not in a good way.
