After reading the description of the book it was relatively safe to assume that this book would be too sad for my tastes. I started the excerpt and saw the content warnings. Now I’m sure it’s not for me. But I so appreciate content warnings. Just because it’s not something I want to read about doesn’t make it a bad book. I read a few pages of the excerpt and it’s definitely well written. It’s rich in detail, the main character has a very interesting story to be uncovered and it all feels mysterious as well.
