There is a reason why Wilder Girls is on ALL of the must read ya summer book lists, it is phenomenal. I have been looking forward to reading it and it lives up to the hype.
The protagonist, Hetty, attends the Raxter School, located on the remote Raxter Island. Hetty and the other students start coming down (?) with weird ailments (second spines, eyes fused shut, scales, festering sores). When staff and students start dying, no one knows why this is happening or how to stop it. The girls are quarentined on the school grounds and must fight to survive.
Wilder Girls is a page-turner that will suck you in. The lengths the girls go to to survive and support each other is awe-inspiring and their ordeal is terrifying.
