I hate giving a neutral three start rating, but I'm really not sure how I feel about Wilder Girls. Reading the description, I was very intrigued by the premise of the book as it was compared to Lord of the Flies. This book was not Lord of the Flies but something very different. And I think it was this initial description and the story that followed that threw me off a bit.

Wilder Girls is much more a horror story than anything else. It's not the creepy kind of horror that makes you sit on the edge of your seat, but the bloody kind of horror that is a bit gruesome.

The story is told in two different voices who are experiencing very different portions of the plot. I feel like one story was told much better than the other, which made me really long for that character to the leading the way.

The three star review is because I really don't know what to think about Wilder Girls. Did I hate it? Absolutely not. Did I love it? Absolutely not. I really am very neutral but maybe you will read it and have stronger feelings either way.

FYI: I borrowed my copy of Wilder Girls from my local library. Check out books at your library today!
