I wish I could've loved this book. I kept seeing it all over social media and decided to read it because the premise seemed very interesting. There were only two things I liked about this book. The details were well written making it easy to visualize how creepy the island they are stuck on is. The other part I liked was the inclusion of sapphic representation. This was not the main focus of the book, but it is still a valuable point in it. The ending is what really ruined this book for me. The suspense kept building up and up until we got to the end and there were so many parts that just felt so unresolved. I feel like it would've been great if there was a second book, but since this is a standalone novel, I was disappointed. I absolutely love dystopian novels, especially when they point out how the government can and is corrupt, but this one just missed the mark for me.
