This is definitely one of those books that you'll either love or hate. The writing style is interesting. It's harsh at times and flows at others. I think that was on purpose? It seemed to reflect the way the girls viewed themselves, their new adaptations, even their view of the island they live on. They are both beautiful and ugly, harsh and compassionate. In any case, it works for the book imo.
I really think this book could use a sequel, I feel like none of my questions were answered. I also don't much like the ending. There's no closure at all. Some books can get away with that but them being SO CLOSE, you can't just end it! I mean, you can, but I'm mad about it (haha)
Barring that the girls, hierarchy, and structure they had created was very interesting. They had a system amongst themselves and it worked.
I'm sure I'll be thinking about this book more over the next few days.
