I stayed up a little too late to finish the audiobook for Wilder Girls one night. Honestly, this book was so far from anything I normally pick up; however, I requested it from the library after seeing it over rand over again on my Instagram feed. I don't even know what genre this is...horror? Thriller? Sci-fi? YA? What?
It could just be the audiobook format, but this YA novel was a bit hard to follow for me. I just don't think I ever fully grasped what was happening, what exactly the Tox was, or what the ending meant. There are just too many unanswered questions--but not in a "I need to know--why would the author do this to me?" kind of way--but a "huh?" way.
Ultimately, this book wasn't my favorite and I'm not sure I would seek out something by this author again. It might be better suited for those already interested in this genre or type of story.
