Raxter School for Girls is under quarantine after a mysterious illness begins killing off students. The girls and their teachers are stuck on an island, marooned from the rest of the world until the disease is cured or it has run its course. When one girl goes missing, another breaks quarantine to find her, madness ensues.
Wilder Girls was described to me as "Lord of the Flies with girl power girls". Immediately I knew I had to read it. Unfortunately it fell completely flat for me. The characters were just awful and the story was so incredibly violent and gory I was wincing and skimming for more chapters than I'd like to admit.
Additionally, we are left with more questions than answers. There is basically no resolution to the plot at all with a very WEIRD plot twist thrown in the last 30 pages for no detectable reason.
