I received an advanced copy of this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

First and foremost, I think it definitely needs to be said that I am not a fan of horror. I am a ginormous wuss when it comes to anything remotely scary. That being said, I am also a sucker for anything described as being feminist, so, of course I had to read this. And, yeah, I kind of (totally) loved this book.

While totally out of my comfort zone, this book was chilling, captivating, and everything I expected and more. I'll admit the first few chapters were slightly slow, but was quickly sucked into the story soon after. Hetty and the other major characters weren't particularly likeable, but were incredibly compelling and strangely relatable. I enjoyed this book so much, even the really (like super) icky gross crap, and I am so hopeful for more of these characters, especially more of the romance. This book is already one of my favorite debuts of the year.

Rory Power can /write/, and I am so psyched to see what else that gnarly mind of hers can come up with next.
