Oh my god! This was... so many things at the same time. It was terrifying, not in a horror-shock way, but in a slow... creeping way where you don't know where exactly the danger is coming from. It crawls up your skin.
Like, Rory made me afraid of the dark again?? What?? I literally went downstairs to the bathroom and had to sprint back up the stairs because of my lowkey fear. So that was interesting and very sad evidence of how much this book has affected me thus far.
I'm so, so invested in finding out what happens to Hetty, Byatt, and Reese. Also... Reese may just be my favorite character. She is the emo gay and I love her so much, oh my god!!
