The opening of Wilder Girls is very atmospheric,the reader immediately connects with the protagonist: the cold , the hunger,the stark terrain of her surroundings. The writing lures you in to question why the CDC hasn't done more to cure this outbreak or in fact is this isolated girls school a mutant experiment. The reader is hooked on the clues the writer drops like breadcrumbs, why haven't these girls tried to escape the island, and why haven't the parents tried to visit or get better medical attention? Readers who are gamers who love Fall Out or Far Cry will enjoy this book emensely , and this is being recommended to all who follow my reviews on Good Reads and librarian friends! Although the cover is pretty it does not appeal to a gamer or lover of comics like Xmen which is the corner of the market I would be appealing to, I suggest a second book cover for the next printing!
