i've been excited about this book since the deal was announced and the excerpt does not disappoint. i've read it through twice now and i cannot wait to read the rest of it. i can already tell this is one of those books i'm going to scream about forever. already i love the relationships between Hetty, Byatt, and Reese: the tension, the shifting emotions, and this first peak into their loyalties to each other (and the subtle sense of doom, that everything is going to shift completely). the prose is BEAUTIFUL and the book feels so haunting and chaotic (also! the body horror!! so beyond excited for that!)
