Rory Power presents an interesting version of the world gone apocalyptic in this excerpt of "Wilder Girls". Hettie seems to be immediately relatable in terms of the matter-of-factness she has living in what no doubt has to be a terrible world. It will be very interesting to see how their closed off surroundings at the school will affect them as the story continues. You can tell that the roles that some of these students have taken on will no doubt create the tension lines running throughout and I would anticipate that the "Tox" running through these students and teachers will create no doubt some incredible situations. I do appreciate the properties of the "Tox" in that is not necessarily an immediate killer but more of a slow-burn illness that breaks down and modifies as it goes. This definitely sounds like it will be a great read of a world slowly going mad and I hope to get to see more soon!
