This excerpt left me with many questions about the Tox, the adults abdication of their roles, the social structures of the girls, and the relationship between the school and the outside world (why isn't the Navy bringing adequate supplies?) I can't wait to read it and learn more about this world. The cover is interesting with it's spiraling strip of flesh forming a face with spaces. What does that mean?
