Interesting Combination of Lord of the Flies and Annihilation

This book is exactly my style, it's weird and you don't fully know about anything that's happening. I like the way that the main character uses terminology that is known to her but is very hard for the reader to wrap their head around,. This is shown it the initial discussion about the flare-ups. The reader has to guess the meaning and continuously update their understanding as more happens in the story and this makes the story constantly interesting. The cover also fit well with the story, as it has an interesting graphic of a girl who looks like her face has been cut to ribbons. Overall, an interesting first look and one that leaves me wanting more.
