The premise of this book sounds awesome. Girls locked away (presumably) in this boarding house where apparently everyone inherits some type of ailment. (Disease? Curse? Bad Luck?) I'm just not as engaged as I would like to be. Some of the scenes are a little too descriptive for me. For example where she talks about her eye infection it made me a little nauseous just to read. The first look also didn't keep my attention as well as some of the other ones I've read. I have high hopes for this book, but from the first look I'm not sure they'll be met.
