I still can't really understand why people love dystopian novels so much. Is it because the world they live in suddenly doesn't seem so bad? Or perhaps, to prepare themselves for when the world inevitably will fall to pieces? In this book, young women are stranded on an island where a disease is mutilating or killing them and the only interaction they have with the rest of the world is when "supplies" are dropped off. Fend for yourself seems to be the name of the game in this book - and for readers if they decide this is up their alley.
