This is definitely just as gritty as Lord of the Flies, maybe even more so. A disease has ravaged an island of girls and their teachers, after which the island is quarantined to prevent the disease from spreading. It's a terrifying look at what some people will do just to survive. I definitely plan on picking this book up once it's released. That cover alone makes the book worth buying. The unraveling girl is reminiscent of how these girls' lives and mental states have already begun unraveling.
