this clearly is a young adult selection and i, as a grown woman, should not be interested in it. but i was and i went in and was drawn in immediately. in my minds eye i see a bunch of young girls in a harry potter-ish type setting but with more sass as seen by the fight for food in the beginning. descriptive books are what draws me in and this book did not let me down. being stuck on this island is just as serious as not being stuck on the island. young girls with nothing to keep them occupied but their grotesquely changing bodies, while being quarantined on an island is bound to be a page turner.
