This story covered an era I think I experienced in a former life but "on the other side of town" (being white). the writing made me feel like I was in the clubs with the lead characters to the point I could taste the gin and vividly see the clothes. The character development and writing from the Roaring 20's and then 2015 was a great way to move the story forward and keep it pertinent the way just a telling of Honoree's story never could have been. The writing was so wonderful I could see it all in my mind's eye -- I want the dress depicted on the cover and described when Honoree wore it. Although there is a flaw in the description as the white over lay is not mentioned until a few pages later and not shown in the cover so I was a bit confused. I hope it is optioned for a movie and that they stay true to the book. I look forward to this author's future books! Thank you!!!
