First, I will add to the consensus that the cover is brilliant. It is sleek, modern, professional and appealing. I titled my review “right on time” because this book is a great fit for the 2020s: a reemergence of interest in the roaring 20s and jazz age revitalizes the need for more historical fiction, especially from different perspectives. For this, I am hoping that this book shines though potential obstacles.

After reading the excerpt, I don’t have many complaints so far. I think the writing style is fine. The dialogue is fine. The descriptions seem fine. One of the better bits is the character interaction. I’d like to read more when I have the opportunity in order to see how these relationships develop, especially in relation to the interview and the dissertation. Also, what possible secrets would this random guy have? That is from the summary enclosed, so I want to know more in that regard as well!
