I (as Honoree would say) ab-so-lute-ly loved this book! the writing was so smooth and fluid. all of the characters were well-developed - I became attached to them all. it was like watching a 1920's gangster movie - but better - because books always have more detail!

The book jumps between 1925 Chicago from the perspective of young club dancer Honoree, and that of 2015 Chicago - the perspective of a young film student studying a protege from the 20's timeperiod.

I didn't expect the twist at the end that we don't really get a clue to until later in the book, during one of the 1925 chapters. I also didn't 100% understand why the twist happened - but i accept it because the book is amazing. i love the wrap-up too of the characters at the end.

i would highly recommend this book - it had grit, glamour, danger, love, everything you could ask for in a story.
