What a wonderfully written historical fiction novel! Switching back and forth between two eras, the reader is able to really get a feel for life in the past and the struggles of the current society as well.

The writing conveys so many different sights, sounds, smells and feelings. It's like the reader is transported back in time and can feel and hear the jazz music, while watching the flappers dance away. Learning about Honoree Dalcour's life is as much magical as it is tragic. Spending time chasing her dreams of becoming a famous dancer, she also let's the reader in on all of the tragedies she has endured throughout her life. Thanks to Sawyer Hayes who seeks out Honoree for an interview, Honoree is able to tell her life story, while Sawyer is able to share some of his own stories of triumph and tragedy.

Overall, it was a really well written book with an interesting story line.
