Great debut!
Wild Women and the Blues is incredible, especially for a debut. This story is about Honeree and Sawyer, who’s stories are almost 100 years apart. Honoree’s story takes place in 1925 in Chicago as a chorus girl, and Sawyer is a filmmaker student in 2015.
Read this book if you like:
💚 Historical Fiction
💚 Different POVs from different time periods
💚 Anything 1920s related
💚 Strong heroines
I first was interested in this book because of the gorgeous cover, but it turns out the inside was just as great. I am so shocked that this is a debut. The atmosphere was so enthralling. I love reading books about the 1920s, and it felt like I was there. The imagery was well done and not overbearing. The character development was spot on, and I liked that none of the characters did anything uncharacteristic.
Check this book out. You will notice it for the cover but it will stick with you after you finish it!
