I am a sucker for historical fiction set in the 1920s, so Wild Women and the Blues had my attention from the get-go! I typically enjoy stories that have have time jumps between the present and past, but I am having trouble connecting with Sawyer in the present so far...it is a bit off-putting how he behaves when he meets Nurse Lula and Honoree, but I sense there is more to his past we will discover that makes him behave that way. I am far more interested in Honoree’s story set in 1925, and am eager to dive into her story!
