This sounds so fascinating!

This book sounds so fascinating and so intriguing! I love the cover because it captures the innocence and freedom of being young, but what makes the book seem so interesting is that it sounds like that innocence and freedom are threatened once Adrienne's mother begins confiding in her with very adult topics. Worse, these confessions seem as if they should stay a secret, placing a very heavy burden on young Adrienne. I'm really excited to see how this story plays out: how her mother's relationships affected Adrienne's emotions, marriage, and future; what other secrets her mother is keeping; how her mother began an affair with her dad's best friend; and what eventually becomes of her mother.
