Not sure how I feel.....

Well...This is something I have never read about before. With a beautiful setting, this story starts out with a harmless family dinner. Next, we see a typical adolescent melee which brings me right back to high school. Then we see the mother of the narrator confiding in her new affair to her 14 year old daughter and asking her if she is happy for her. WHATT??? I am curious to see how this affects the narrator as the story goes on, and whether or not she actually is happy for her mother.
