Intriguing, yet disturbing, memoir

In the summer of 1980, 14-year-old Rennie is exploring her own sexuality with a neighbor boy, when her mother awakens to tell her she has kissed Ben, her second husband’s best friend. She and Charles already broke up their respective first marriages to be together, but her marriage to Charles is clearly not what she’d hoped for. This memoir hints at the long term effects of adults’ selfishness.
