It started with food, delicious mouth watering food. A house party with fresh steamed clams with butter, my weakness. I was enthralled with the descriptions, I could almost taste them. Unfortunately the book swayed into a tale of serial infidelity with married people. The mother in the story ( on her second marriage) told her 14 year old daughter than another man ( married) had just kidded her and she was planning a weekend away with him. She asked her daughter to help her not hurt her current husband, to keep it a secret. This is a subject I have not interest in reading about.
