A Coming-of-Age Story About Romance, Intrigue, Betrayal

This author has a way of writing that brought me in as a reader. The descriptions of the water and sand, not to mention the beach house were very detailed. The writing of the scene from the beginning, building up to the climax, and then the twist toward the end. Dropping details about the characters' backgrounds mixed in with the narrative. The story itself is very intriguing, as well.
