I just have to say, this was a very fun read. Three widows, whose husbands failed to pull off a particular heist (and failed in a most explosive manner) decide that they will try to finish what their husbands started. Working under the noses of the local police, using their husbands’ plans and trying to avoid the violent temper of the rival crime syndicate, they find friends along the way who help them reach their goal.
I gave the book only four stars since part of the story was predictable, but it was still a fun ride. I found myself glued to the very end wondering (hoping?) that they would be able to pull it off. La Plante does a marvelous job developing the characters in the story and the story flows very smoothly. It is a quick, but entertaining read.
