So, the good thing about this except is that they catch you up if you haven't read the first book. That said, the excerpt really doesn't give you enough to decide if you are gonna like it or not. If you have read the first book, then of course you want to know what happens. There is absolutely no character development and it is basically letting you continue on from the last book.
