I want to first say that I did not read the first book. I am sure that if I did, I would not have as many points as I do currently. However, I did like the fact that there was a summary of the first book at the beginning of this sampler to at least give me a starting ground to understand the story. Though it is still evident that this is a sequel as there is no background information about the characters in this book. Though that is not my biggest complaint. This book was horribly boring which is shocking considering the synopsis made it out to be this thrilling novel. It failed to capture my intention and left willing to part ways at the end.
