Emily Woo Zeller narrates Miyoung's POV, and I am deceased.

Wicked Fox is a modern day urban fantasy set in Seoul Korea, where Gu Miyoung is an 18 yr old Gumiho, a nine-tailed fox who must consume the souls of men in order to survive. When Miyoung saves a young man, Jihoon, she loses her fox bead and is determined to do anything to get it back. But that will require Jihoon's help and Miyoung refuses to spend any more time with a human boy than she must. But outside forces are conspiring against Miyoung and the consequences could be disastrous.

I loved this story full of Korean mythology and set in modern day Korea! So much YA urban fantasy takes place in the US or the UK, I love being able to explore other cities outside of London or NYC. The atmosphere of this book was lush, and the plot had such a grand arc. Some things I had sort of seen coming, but there were several points were I was swept off my feet. Especially with the end. Oof.

Miyoung has a complicated relationship with her mother, and I liked how much this was explored. There are circumstances that Miyoung is not aware of that heavily influence how her mother acts and I loved seeing how their relationship changed and grew because of these. I loved the moral aspect of this story. Miyoung is constantly struggling with her immortality vs her humanity and the consequences of staying immortal. It was such a unique struggle and I loved the discussion on it.

Jihoon is my new favorite cinnamon roll ever. He is too sweet and too pure for the world. I want to protect him from everything. His kindness and curiosity are the best parts of him. He's just too freaking good! We need more male characters like Jihoon.
