Good book! Normally, I do not read fantasy. But, when I read about the premise, I couldn't resist a chance of learning and enjoying this book. I had some hesitations because I assumed I needed to know Korean mythology, which the story heavily borrows.
Wrong!
It introduced me to concepts I enjoyed. Gumiho, a nine-tailed fox, caught and held my attention. Vivid. Intense. The plot was easy to follow and the writing presented itself as strong and well-conceived. Take a look at the cover, too. I love it.
In addition, great Asian and female representation, which is strongly needed. I believe teens and anyone seeking a new concept in the YA fantasy genre will enjoy this story without hesitation.
