When Two Feather Fell From the Sky is a historical fiction of sorts that is set in the 1920's. Our main character is Two Feathers, a Cherokee horse diver working at one of the last wild west shows in the nation. What is a horse diving you ask? It's when a performer rides their horse to the top of a tall platform and dives into a pool of water while still riding the horse. It is quite the rare attraction and Two loves the attention and status is brings. Things take a turn when a sink hole opens up and swallows Two and her horse whole in the middle of the dive. Two survives, but it's up to her and the other residents to investigate the sink hole and other strange and mysterious happenings around the park.

The pacing in this book was a little slow for my taste, it definitively wasn't a book that had me up past midnight reading because I had to know what happened next. Instead this was a really character driven story about Two and the different friends and acquaintances at the park and how all of their stories were connected to the history of the land. I found all of the history to be the most interesting part, I think. I loved Two and how she was a no nonsense kinda gal and I also really loved Crawford. But I found that my absolute favorite parts of the story were the parts about Little Elk and his attempts to get Two's attention and have his spirit seen. I got a good chuckle out of some of his antics and I wish he had been a bigger part of the story.

The Narrator is Omniscient, which threw me off a little at first because we jump from hearing one characters thoughts and history right to the next character in the same paragraph. After a little while I got used to the narration style though and it started to flow better for me. The plot felt a little muddly at times and I had a hard time remembering what the characters were trying to accomplish. But again, I think this is because it was meant to be more about the characters and their histories. Even though it was a little slow I still enjoyed this story and the characters and would recommend to fans of historical fiction and those who enjoy more character driven stories.
