Historical fiction is a genre that has been increasingly interesting to me, and this is a story that touches on an aspect of history that I know nothing about. Two Feathers (not her real name) is a horse diver in the mid 1920s, and her story has already grabbed my attention.
She's a character that I want to know more about. She's strong and independent, and the social norms are different for her as a result of her cultural upbringing. Two is a Native American, and has found a way to engage in her passion as a career, making it possible to support herself and contribute to funding her sister's education, although she still experiences racism in that in-between, where she isn't "colored," but clearly isn't white.
