I appreciated the historical information in this book which provides the real history of the Native Americans/First People of North America. The author's tongue-in-cheek commentary about race relations in the United States blends seamlessly into the narrative of Two Feathers, the stage name of the female Native American who works in Tennessee as a circus-type act, diving off a platform on the back of her horse into a pool of water. During the summer, she travels home to Oklahoma and watches the treaty agreements between the U.S. government and the "Indians" being ignored and rewritten at the expense of the latter. It is difficult to gauge how I feel about this book. I think I would need an additional chapter or two to know. The cover seems to hint at a fairly fun tale.
