An interesting and new-to-me concept

I was expecting to read an excerpt from a western book that didn't really draw me in, but I actually enjoyed this excerpt a lot more than I thought I would. This excerpt was pretty short, but of what I read, I enjoyed. The cover definitely stands out to me, although I was a little confused about the "O" in "TWO" in the cover art. I like Two Feathers as a main character so far from what I've read in the excerpt.
