I would have been tempted to use my points for this one because I keep seeing everywhere that this book is wonderful. But I got offered an ebook arc on NetGalley luckily. I haven’t read it yet and my comments are entirely based on this excerpt.
We meet the lead character when she is around 12. Her and her best friend have just “broken up”. She says a heartbreaking line about how she didn’t know people you loved could just stop loving you. So she was shocked she is definitely hurting from the loss of her best friend.
This already feels like an emotional, yet hopeful, read.
I like the lead character already and I love the cover.
