Wow! This book really impressed me! Gina is a talented writer, and the story was put together well, with smooth writing and good description. The characters were crafted well and were very likable and you could really see where they were coming from. Her description of Iraq was very vivid as only someone who lived there could describe and it never pulled me out of the story itself. The plot was done well and had a nice progression to it. It had good pacing where there was enough action to keep it interesting, but not so much that you didn't have a chance to breathe. As I mentioned before, the description was woven into the narrative and didn't feel forced. The chapters were a good length and I never felt like I was struggling to reach the next one. Overall it was a really solid read that I really enjoyed. I can't wait to see what the author does next!
