The author did a wonderful job in her story telling. The way she writes and the words she uses flows so nicely and is easy to understand. Even though she uses more complex words because of the way she writes I wasn’t stumbling over the words in my mind while reading. It’s like the difference between a professional audio book and someone who is reading it for the first time reading the book out loud.

It was also enjoyable having the different 3 third person perspectives and hearing how these 3 women’s lives intertwine. I can tell there is more here than meets the eye and that it will be revealed but not knowing adds a mystery in the book that keeps the readers engaged. It’s also unique because of the setting of the book. I haven’t read many books set in Baghdad and the culture of the region in the book adds even more depth and character and unique situations to the story.

I really like the cover. I like the simple design and the color of the book. All I can think is that it would look really good in a bookshelf. I like that the cover isn’t a simple gloss picture, but the texture is displaying brush strokes. I think it makes the cover even more visually appealing.
